Lyndsay and I have been living on Cypress Hill Horse Farm since 2007, a smallholding located at the beginning of the Outeniqua hiking trail, along the popular Seven Passes road in the Garden Route, near Hoekwil and Wilderness.

Our daily life is centered around the farm, where we care for a variety of animals—horses, ducks, pigs, sheep, chickens, Great Danes, and the occasional guinea pig (the "royal we," mostly Lyndsay).

In 2020, we decided to make a shift toward better health, which led to the creation of our first Tallow Cream. We quickly noticed how effective it was for our skin and how much more economical tallow was compared to petrochemical-based moisturizers.

Tallow Balm lasted longer on the skin, required less product, and offered better moisture retention.

Plus, the small carbon footprint and natural bioavailability made it a win in every way.

Why wasn't everyone using it? This discovery led to the founding of Cypress Hill Tallow Company in 2020.

We began selling our soaps and creams at our café, Naughty Monkey Café, located on the N2, between Wilderness and Sedgefield in Timberlake.

Through conversations with customers, we realized there was a significant demand for natural, bioidentical skincare in South Africa, especially for those struggling with conditions like eczema and stubborn psoriasis.

Our Natural Beef Tallow Skin Cream became a solution for many, and we’ve been excited to see how much of a difference it’s made for our customers.

It’s been a rewarding journey, and we're thrilled to continue sharing the benefits of tallow with more people, helping them choose a more natural and effective alternative to conventional skincare products.
